Skyler Brind'Amour and three others head to unrestricted free agency as Carolina secures negotiating rights for top prospects like Alexander Nikishin ahead of the July 1 deadline.

The Carolina Hurricanes submitted qualifying offers for seven of their 11 upcoming RFAs on Monday, meaning that four players are set to become unrestricted free agents

Those that received qualifying offers include Noel Gunler, Aleksi Heimosalmi, Viktor Neuchev, Cayden Primeau, Justin Robidas, Ronan Seeley and Alexander Nikishin.

Players can accept their QOs up until July 15, although teams are allowed to sign players to contracts outside of the QOs as well.

While this does not mean that these players are necessarily signed, it means that Carolina retains their exclusive negotiating rights regardless of whether or not they choose to accept the QOs.

Gunler, Primeau and Seeley are also all arbitration eligible, although it seems likely that Gunler will be returning to Europe to play.

Players who did not receive qualifying offers include Skyler Brind'Amour, Domenick Fensore, Amir Miftakhov and Nikita Quapp.

Brind'Amour, the son of Carolina coach Rod Brind'Amour, had 16 goals and 34 points in 68 games and Fensore had 10 goals and 35 points in 60 games with the Wolves last season.

Miftakhov struggled in his first year back in North America, posting a 0.888 save percentage in 28 games with the Wolves, while Quapp primarily played in the ECHL.

All four players will become unrestricted free agents and can sign with any team starting July 1.
