One organization is reportedly waiting for Edmonton Oilers' Ken Holland to become available to make their GM decision.
EDMONTON -- Everything is going well for the Edmonton Oilers right now.

On Tuesday night they tied up their series with the Vancouver Canucks with a 3-2 win. They head back to Vancouver for Game five, focused on winning two of the next three games.
At this point in time it appears that all of Ken Holland's bets are (more or less) paying off. Adam Henrique has looked fantastic as a utility player, Troy Stecher has filled in admirably when inserted into the lineup and Calvin Pickard has been a reliable backup who is enjoying a career year. And Corey Perry has brought several intangibles that are the glue keeping this team together.
As far as Holland is concerned there is one elephant in the room - his contract is expiring once the season is over. Because of that, many are speculating that Jeff Jackson will want a new GM that is "his guy" to take over.
If that is the case, we can expect Holland to move on to a new organization. He could also retire - although he hasn't explicitly shared where his mind is at regarding this.

In this past Wednesday's edition of 32 Thoughts, Elliotte Friedman discussed the Columbus Blue Jackets search for a new general manager. Friedman speculated that they may not be done speaking to potential candidates yet, "I am under the impression that they are still waiting to talk to people."
"What's going to happen in Edmonton after this season? That is one of the situations that could have an effect on Columbus."

They are supposedly looking for a new general manager who has experience - which Holland has in spades. Like anyone, he's not without his warts. It's all a matter of whether the Blue Jackets organization is willing to put up with those for all of the good things that a GM like Holland can bring.
