    Predators Swap Forwards With Flyers

The Nashville Predators have been extremely busy ahead of the trade deadline this season as general manager Barry Trotz has made his mark on this surging team so far. After multiple trades and additions so far, the Predators have traded Denis Gurianov to the Philadelphia Flyers and received Wade Allison in return.

After bringing in left wingers Anthony Beauvillier and Jason Zucker, it was likely that Gurianov was either going to be placed on waivers or traded as there wasn't a spot in the lineup for him. He has only dressed for 14 games this season anyways and the Predators are bulking up.

Allison is 26 years old and despite playing 60 games in the NHL last season with the Flyers, has only played games in the AHL this season. This type of move by the Predators is to get a different look player into the system as extra depth, but he isn't expected to get into any NHL action unless there's multiple injuries.

Allison has struggled a bit offensively this season for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, scoring just 10 goals and 17 points in 46 games after nine goals and 15 points in 60 games in the NHL in 2022-23. When the rosters open up a bit come playoff time, Allison could get the call, or he could stay in Milwaukee to contribute down there if others get the call.
