Christopher Hanewinckel - USA TODAY Sports - Flyers Prospects: Michkov Trainer Sends Flyers Fans Reeling With Instagram Message

Philadelphia Flyers prospect Matvei Michkov can send fans into a tailspin by doing so much as breathing, but he really incited chaos on social media on Tuesday after he posted pictures of a gym session on his Instagram story.

Michkov has been enjoying some downtime since his KHL season ended, posting pretty standard vacation pictures from destinations like Dubai and an unspecified European country.

He was back in the gym on Tuesday, posting videos of him doing some weightlifting to his Instagram story. This sent Flyers fans into a tizzy on social media—not just because their star prospect is continuing to build up strength in the gym, but more because of his choice of gym attire.

Donning an official "Flyers Hockey" shirt, many fans interpreted this to mean that Michkov would indeed be making his way over to Philadelphia in time for the upcoming 2024-25 season, especially considering reports that he very well could be making his way stateside earlier than the originally projected 2026.

While the 19-year-old is indeed just wearing a shirt, and there have been no official comments from the Flyers organization regarding updates in his arrival timeline, Michkov's trainer added to the fuel to the fire after a fan sent him a direct message on Instagram asking about the meaning of the shirt.

While, again, there have been no official updates from the Flyers or SKA St. Petersburg (where Michkov is currently signed in the KHL), seeing the star prospect continue to embrace his future NHL team is only a positive thing for his very eager legion of fans.
