According to reports, the Philadelphia Flyers expect other teams to circle back on Scott Laughton as the trade market shifts.
Many trades have led up to tomorrow's deadline, and Scott Laughton could be the next Flyer off the board. With Sean Walker sent to Colorado and Nick Seeler signing an extension, Laughton's future remains in limbo.
With the rival Pittsburgh Penguins weighing the market on Jake Guentzel, more potential buyers are focused on that. The Flyers expect to have teams look at Laughton once that trade is completed.
The New York Rangers were once rumored to be interested in Laughton but acquired Seattle Kraken center Alex Wennberg. It is unclear who possible suitors are for the veteran forward, but the Flyers are also in the midst of a playoff chase and are more than happy to keep him in the lineup.
Laughton is one of the team's best penalty-killers and has had a solid offensive season with 32 points (10 goals, 22 assists) in 63 games.
The Flyers take on the Florida Panthers tonight, and Laughton could be a candidate to be scratched for precautionary trade-related reasons.
