Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports - REPORT: NHL Won't Change Qualifying Offer Process Regarding 2018 Hockey Canada Scandal Players

According to The Athletic's Chris Johnston, the NHL will not act differently against the players involved in the 2018 Hockey Canada scandal, including Philadelphia Flyers goalie Carter Hart.

Hart is a pending restricted free agent, and Flyers GM Danny Briere must decide by 5 p.m. ET tomorrow whether or not to give him a qualifying offer. The legal process is still in limbo and will take time due to the severity of the charges.

Briere told reporters at the NHL Draft this weekend that he was still waiting for guidance from the NHL. That was the second time in a short period that Briere gave that answer.

The Flyers will make news no matter the outcome of Hart's contractual status.
