First reported by Frank Seravalli, the San Jose Sharks are trading defenseman Nikita Okhotiuk to the Calgary Flames. 

Okhotiuk was acquired from the New Jersey Devils in the Timo Meier trade. In 43 games with the Sharks this season, he has had one goal and seven assists. 

Per Elliotte Friedman, San Jose is getting a 2024 fifth-round pick in return. The team tweeted out that the pick is a conditional one.

The condition is that the Sharks will receive the higher of the Chicago Blackhawks fifth-round picks this season.
