San Jose Sharks forward Ryan Carpenter received one 4th-place vote for the Lady Byng Trophy.
The award was won by Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Jaccob Slavin for the second time in four seasons.
Carpenter tied for 64th place with former Sharks defenseman Brent Burns and five other NHL players.
In 62 games in the NHL this season, Carpenter finished with just six penalty minutes. The veteran forward was counted on for depth at center, which was desperately needed due to injuries and penalty killing. By not taking penalties, he was almost always available for former head coach David Quinn to deploy.
