New San Jose Sharks forward Tyler Toffoli revealed that he and Macklin Celebrini share the same agent.

Pat Brisson is the forwards' agent, and although that likely had no direct impact on Toffoli's signing in San Jose, the winger said it didn't hurt.

It is hard to miss the Celebrini highlight package he put together at Boston University. Toffoli admitted that playing with the No. 1 pick excites him.

"You just see how skilled he is and how hard he works. I've heard nothing but great things about him being part of the same agency," Toffoli said. "It's an exciting time and another major reason for me wanting to come here to be able to play with him."

The No. 1 pick is bringing more than just higher ticket sales. He's attracting top free agents with his potential. Celebrini is the Sharks' franchise cornerstone, and players around the NHL want to be part of it.

"I just think that the opportunity was there for me. The rebuild that they have started and the draft they just had, [selecting] a couple guys that are cornerstones for the organization, it's an exciting time," Toffoli said. "I started my career in LA, and knowing how passionate the fan is definitely encouraged me to make my decision."

The Sharks wanted to add a player who could score goals, and they did so in Toffoli with the indirect help of the prized No. 1 pick.
