The Tampa Bay Lightning have announced that they have assigned forward Conor Sheary to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.
Sheary, 32, was placed on waivers by the Lightning on Wednesday (Oct. 23). Now, after clearing them without being claimed, the Winchester, Massachusetts native will play for Syracuse.

Sheary has played in three games for the Lightning this season, where he has zero points, four penalty minutes, and a minus-2 rating. In 57 games with the Lightning last season, he had four goals, 11 assists, and a minus-3 rating.
Sheary will now look to impress down in the AHL with the Crunch. If he does, it will help his chances of being recalled by the Lightning in the future. However, for now, he will aim to regain his previous form with the Crunch.
