This Lightning star had himself a dominant game against the Avalanche.

The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Colorado Avalanche by a massive 8-2 final score. Lightning star forward Brandon Hagel was a major reason for the win, as he recorded five assists on the night.
With this incredible performance, Hagel made some history in the process.

Hagel tied a Lightning single-game record with his five assists on the night. However, he did not stop there, as his four first-period assists are tied for the most in NHL history.
According to NHL Public Relations, the only other players who have done this since the 1984-85 season are Rostislav Klesla (Phoenix Coyotes), Pavol Demitra (LA Kings), Adam Oates (Washington Capitals), Eric Lindros (Philadelphia Flyers), Wendel Clark (New York Islanders), Mario Lemieux (Pittsburgh Penguins), Wayne Gretzky (Edmonton Oilers), and Ray Neufeld (Hartford Whalers).
Hagel now has nine goals, 17 assists, and a plus-10 rating in 20 games this season.
