All eyes will be on Nikita Kucherov against the Maple Leafs.
The Tampa Bay Lightning will play their final game of the 2023-24 season on Wednesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Lightning will look to finish the season on a high note by ending their three-game losing streak.
However, all eyes will be on Lightning superstar forward Nikita Kucherov for this matchup, as he is on the verge of making history. The 30-year-old winger needs to record just one assist to hit his 100th of the season. If he achieves this, he will be just the fifth player in NHL history to record 100 assists in a season and the first winger ever to achieve this feat.
In 80 games this season, Kucherov has 43 goals, 99 assists, and a league-leading 142 points. Because of his marvelous season, he is a clear frontrunner for the Hart Memorial Trophy. Reaching the 100-assist mark would only strengthen his case.
We will now need to wait and see if No. 86 can get his 100th assist against the Leafs. When noting that he has nine assists over his last five games, it is easy to feel confident that he will.
