Filip Johansson played 55 games for the Abbotsford Canucks this season.

Filip Johansson is headed back to the SHL. The 24-year-old defenceman signed a two-year deal with Rögle BK after spending the 2023-24 season with the Abbotsford Canucks. In 55 regular season games with Abbotsford, Johansson recorded 18 points while also playing in six playoff games.
Initially drafted by the Minnesota Wild 24th overall in 2018, Johansson signed a two-year contract with the Vancouver Canucks in June 2022. Known as an offensive defenceman, he recorded the most goals and points by a defenceman during the 2022-23 Champions Hockey League season and has 47 points in 183 career SHL games. Johansson made his debut with Abbotsford during the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs, playing in Games 2, 3 and 4 of the series.
Despite signing in the SHL, the Canucks may decide to retain his rights. Johansson is currently an RFA and can have his rights extended if Vancouver offers him a contract. Johansson is one of five RFA defencemen from Abbotsford this season, which includes two other right-shot defenders in Jett Woo and Cole McWard.
