Vancouver Canucks defenseman Nikita Zadorov laid a massive hit on Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane that caused him to go into his bench.
There were two penalties called on the play. Zadorov was assessed a roughing penalty while Corey Perry served a bench minor for the Oilers.
Kane was unhappy about the play and didn't say anything to the officials, but his frustration was visible.
The Canucks had recently taken a 4-2 after Elias Lindholm's second goal of the game. He was given the game's first goal after it was initially given to Brock Boeser. Boeser scored a natural hat trick in the first period, but his first goal was changed to Lindholm during the first intermission.
The Canucks chased Oilers starting goalie Stuart Skinner after the second period, and Calvin Pickard came on in relief.
