Vegas Golden Knight defenseman Shea Theodore practiced in a regular jersey today for the first time since his injury.
Theodore suffered an upper-body injury in a game on Nov. 22 during a 2-1 win over the Dallas Stars. Three games after sustaining the injury it was announced that Theodore would be week-to-week after receiving surgery. A couple of days later he was moved onto the LTIR.
Before his injury, Theodore was leading Golden Knight defensemen in goals, assists, points and plus/minus.
Theodore is one of the league's best defensemen and will help the Golden Knights's offensive game both at 5v5 and on the powerplay.
Head coach Bruce Cassidy spoke today about Theodore.
"I don't know if he'll be available this weekend. I think next week is probably more realistic but I'm not going to put anything on him since it's only Wednesday. I'm excited about the fact that he's mixed in."
The Golden Knights are ten points back of the Vancouver Canucks and just five points ahead of the Edmonton Oilers with some top teams coming up in their schedule. The addition of Theodore back into the lineup in the next week or so will help the Golden Knights down the stretch.
