Portland and Saskatoon evened their Conference Final series in Game 2.
Saturday night featured the Saskatoon Blades and Portland Winterhawks tying their Conference Finals at one game a piece. While Saskatoon needed overtime, Portland was able to hand the Prince George Cougars just their second loss of the postseason. Here is a recap of all the action from April 27.
Portland Winterhawks 5, Prince George Cougars 3
Series: Tied 1-1
After being shut out in Game 1, the Portland Winterhawks rebounded in a big way, winning 5-3 against the Prince George Cougars in Game 2. Nate Danielson led the way for Portland with three assists, while Jan Špunar stopped 29 of the 32 shots he faced. Over on the Cougars side, Oren Shtrom recorded a goal and an assist, while Joshua Ravensbergen made 33 saves in his first loss of the 2024 WHL Playoffs.

Saskatoon Blades 3, Moose Jaw Warriors 2 (OT)
For the second straight night, the Blades and Moose Jaw Warriors required overtime. Unlike last night, though, Saskatoon was able to pull off the win thanks to Fraser Minten's overtime winner 13 minutes into the extra frame. As for other standouts, Egor Sidorov had two assists for the Blades, while Jackson Unger made 34 saves in the Warriors' loss.
