
The Portland Winterhawks book their ticket to the WHL Final thanks to a double overtime winner.

It took double overtime, but the Portland Winterhawks are officially on their way to the WHL Final. Flordia Panthers prospect Josh Davies scored the game-winner 5:40 into the second overtime as Portland defeated the Prince George Cougars in six games. Here is a recap of the action from May 6.

The Winterhawks and Cougars put on an exciting show in Game 6 of the Western Conference Final. Both goaltenders were spectacular, with Joshua Ravensbergen making 36 saves while Jan Špunar stopped 48 of the 49 shots he faced. In the though, it was Portland coming out on top as Davies ended Prince George's historic season in double overtime. The Winterhawks can now relax for a day and watch the Saskatoon Blades and Moose Jaw Warriors go at it in a Game 7 tomorrow to determine who will represent the East in the WHL Final.
