Eleven teams have punched their ticket to the 2024 WHL playoffs.

Friday was a busy day for playoff-clinching as the Swift Current Broncos, Vancouver Giants and Kelowna Rockets all secured their spot in the 2024 postseason. The Broncos became the fourth team in the East to clinch, while the Giants and Rockets were the sixth and seventh teams to punch their ticket to the postseason. Now, only four spots are available in the East, while the West is down to one final spot.
Swift Current booked their spot thanks to the Calgary Hitmen's loss to the Red Deer Rebels. This will be the Broncos' first trip to the postseason since 2018 when they made it to the Memorial Cup tournament. Led by Conor Geekie, Connor Hvidston, and Clarke Caswell, the next step for them is to secure home-ice advantage in the first round.
As for the Giants, they clinched thanks to the Tri-City Americans' loss to the Wenatchee Wild. Vancouver has made the playoffs every year they have been held since 2017 and currently sit seventh in the Western Conference. With Brett Mirwald in net and a solid forward group that includes Jaden Lipinski, Samuel Honzek and Cameron Schmidt, they have the potential to make some noise in the postseason.
The third team to clinch a spot was the Kelowna Rockets, thanks to an impressive 9-1 win over the Kamloops Blazers. This will be the second consecutive playoff appearance for Kelowna, with their last miss coming in 2019. Led by Andrew Cristall, who hit the 100-point mark on the season, top prospect Tij Iginla and captain Gabriel Szturc, they will be difficult to contain in April.
