On Saturday night, the Wenatchee Wild became the fourth Western Conference to qualify for the 2024 WHL playoffs. A franchise that has had playoff success in both Kooteny and Winnipeg, this will be the first opportunity for the Wild to show what they can do in the postseason. While they didn't play, the Wild clinched thanks to the Tri-City Ameriancas 4-1 loss to the Kelowna Rockets. With a record of 31-24-4 through 59 games, Wenatchee is currently the fourth seed in the West and will be battling for home-ice advantage in the first round.
It is safe to say that the Wild's first year in the WHL has been a success. Not only did they make big trades to help build their future, but they are playoff-bound and will most likely finish as the fourth or fifth seed. They have also done a great job of packing the Town Toyota Center all year, as their average attendance is just under 3,000 this season. Led by Kenta Isogai, Graham Sward, and head coach Roy Sommer, Wenatchee has shown that they can be successful both on and off the ice.
