Jagger Firkus led the WHL in points with 126 in 63 games.
After a stellar year, Jagger Firkus has been named the WHL's Player of the Year for the 2023-24 season. "The Firkus Circus," as he is called, led the league with 126 points, posting new career highs in goals (61) and assists (65). Firkus is the second player in Moose Jaw Warriors franchise history to be named WHL Player of the Year, following Calgary Flames forward Dryden Hunt, who won the Four Broncos Memorial Trophy during the 2015-16 season.
Firkus has been a leader for the Warriors all season and played a significant part in their run to the WHL Final. He finished second in the WHL with ten game-winners and led the league with nine insurance goals. As for this postseason, Firkus leads all players with 27 points and sits in the top five in both goals and assists.
Drafted 35th overall by the Seattle Kraken in 2022, Firkus is a skilled player who has no issues generating in the offensive zone. He constantly pulls off highlight reel moves and has hit "The Michigan" multiple times during his WHL career. Now on the doorstep of a Memorial Cup berth, Firkus will need to bring it if Moose Jaw wants to knock off the Portland Winterhawks in the WHL Final.
