The Moose Jaw Warriors became the second Eastern Conference to qualify for the 2024 WHL playoffs after a thrilling 8-7 shootout win over the Everett Silvertips on Friday night. This is the Warriors sixth consecutive season they have made the postseason, with their last miss coming in 2014-15.

Led by Jagger Firkus, Denton Mateychuk, Brayden Yager and Atlee Calvert, the Warriors have shown how dangerous they are in the offensive zone throughout the season. They rank fifth in the WHL with 253 goals and have scored eight or more goals multiple times this season. While they still have a chance at first place in the East, they most likely will finish in the third slot as the Blades all but have the division locked up.

The Warriors have nine games remaining on the season, which includes five more at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. Part of their nine-game schedule also consists of two matches against the Blades in what may be a preview of the WHL Final. Moose Jaw has not been to the Eastern Conference Final since 2011-12, when they fell to the Edmonton Oil Kings, who would go on to represent the WHL at the Memorial Cup that year.
