Red Deer is the fifth Eastern Conference team to secure their spot in the 2024 WHL Playoffs.

The Red Deer Rebels are playoff-bound for the eighth straight season after qualifying for the 2024 postseason on Saturday night. The Rebels qualified thanks to their 5-2 victory over the Calgary Hitmen, which pushed their record to 33-22-8 on the season. Red Deer is the fifth Eastern Conference team to qualify for the playoffs and will use their final five games to try and secure home ice advantage in the first round.
General manager Brent Sutter has done a great job of creating one of the best defensive teams in the WHL. The Rebels rank fourth in the league with 3.02 goals against per game and sixth in shots against per game with 29.35. A strong group that features the likes of Kalan Lind, Mats Lindgren and Ollie Josephson, there is little doubt that they will frustrate whoever they match up in the first round.
