Terik Parascak was drafted 17th overall by the Washington Capitals in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.

The Washington Capitals have signed Prince George Cougars forward Terik Parascak to a three-year entry-level contract. Parascak was drafted 17th overall by the Washington Capitals in the 2024 NHL Draft and is the first WHLer taken by Washington in the first round since Red Deer Rebels Alexander Alexeyev, who went 31st in 2018. Parascak is the second WHLer from this year's class to sign his ELC, joining Berkly Catton, who signed with the Seattle Kraken.
Known as the "Super Rookie," Parascak had a year to remember in Prince George. He scored 43 goals and recorded 105 points in 68 games while also being above a point per game in the playoffs. Parascak was also the runner-up for WHL Rookie of the Year and was voted to the CHL's All-Rookie Team.
