One insider reported that the Bruins are interested in Vladimir Tarasenko.
The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline is this Friday (March 8), so there naturally has been a lot of chatter in the rumor mill. The Boston Bruins have understandably been discussed a reasonable amount, as they are clear buyers heading toward the big day.
The Bruins have been connected to several players because of this, and now they reportedly have a new forward on their radar. According to Postmedia's Bruce Garrioch, the Bruins have expressed interest to the Ottawa Senators regarding winger Vladimir Tarasenko.
Garrioch also reported that the Florida Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, New York Rangers, Vegas Golden Knights, and Edmonton Oilers are among Tarasenko's current suitors. Garrioch also added that the Panthers are high on Tarasenko's wish list.
Earlier this week, we here at The Hockey News Bruins argued that the Bruins should make a push for Tarasenko, as he would provide their top six with a notable boost. Now, with this report from Garrioch, it is clear that the Bruins are open to adding him.
Tarasenko holds a full no-trade clause, so he will ultimately decide if and where he gets moved. It has been reported by David Pagnotta, however, that he is willing to waive it to join a playoff club.
Tarasenko, 32, has appeared in 57 games this season with the Senators, where he has 17 goals, 31 points, and a plus-13 rating.
