The Boston Bruins are playing their final game of the pre-season tonight (Oct. 5) against the Washington Capitals.

The Bruins' season-opening matchup against the Florida Panthers is on Oct. 8. Because of this, they are resting a decent number of their regulars. However, that does not mean there are no players to watch during it.

Captain Brad Marchand is set to play in this pre-season matchup. The star forward left his first pre-season appearance of the year due to an illness. However, he is now good enough to return to game action and will look to shake off the rust after undergoing three off-season surgeries.

Fabian Lysell is back in the lineup for the Bruins in this contest. The 2021 first-round pick will look to impress, as it could help his chances of receiving consideration for an NHL spot at some point this season.

Fellow Bruins top prospect Georgii Merkulov was recalled to the NHL roster today and will play against the Capitals. While he is expected to start the season in the AHL, he will aim to stand out.
