The Boston Bruins will be back on the ice to face the Montreal Canadiens on April 3. Their goal will be to snap their nine-game losing streak and secure their first win since March 11 against the Florida Panthers.
After losing to the Washington Capitals by a 4-3 final score in their last matchup, the Bruins are switching up their forward group for their contest against Montreal.
Bruins head coach Joe Sacco confirmed that Fabian Lysell will be back in the lineup after being scratched against Washington. In addition, Sacco said that forward Jeffrey Viel will be scratched for this contest.
All eyes will be on Lysell with his return to the lineup, as the 2021 first-round pick is one of the Bruins' top prospects. The 22-year-old winger has appeared in five games for Boston this campaign, where he has zero points, two penalty minutes, and an even plus/minus rating. Down in the AHL with the Providence Bruins, he has 11 goals, 34 points, and a plus-11 rating in 51 games.
Viel has also played in five games this season with Boston, posting zero points, 12 hits, 14 penalty minutes, and a minus-1 rating. He dressed in the Bruins' last matchup against the Capitals and notably dropped the gloves with defenseman Dylan McIlrath.
It will now be interesting to see if these lineup changes help the Bruins secure a victory against the Habs from here.
