The Boston Bruins snapped their three-game losing streak on Saturday (Oct. 26), as they defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs in overtime by a 4-3 final score. Bruins winger Justin Brazeau played a big role in the win, as he scored his second goal in two games.

Brazeau's goal was a nice one, too, as he fired a Trent Frederic rebound past Maple Leafs goalie Anthony Stolarz. When looking at Brazeau's career history, this goal had to feel extra sweet for the 6-foot-5 winger.

Brazeau spent his first two professional seasons with the Maple Leafs' system, having stints with the Newfoundland Growlers (ECHL) and Toronto Marlies (AHL). The New Liskeard, Ontario native never earned an NHL deal with the Leafs during his time with their AHL affiliate.

Brazeau struggled in his final season with the Marlies in 2020-21, recording four goals and an assist in 21 contests. After this, his time with the Maple Leafs organization ended, and he signed an AHL deal with the Providence Bruins. This decision benefitted Brazeau immensely, as he undoubtedly took a major step forward after joining Providence.

After three solid seasons with Providence, Brazeau earned an NHL contract with the Bruins in the middle of 2023-24. Since then, he has emerged as a solid part of the Bruins' forward group and has shown that he deserves to be in the NHL. However, this goal against the Maple Leafs had to be extra special, given his past within the organization.
