Things are just not working for the Boston Bruins right now.

After a rough 4-0 loss to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday (Oct. 22), the Bruins have a 3-3-1 record for the season. Considering that the Bruins are aiming to cement themselves as contenders, this kind of start is far below expectations.

One of the Bruins' biggest issues right now is their scoring. This is especially the case when it comes to the second line, as no matter what trio they put together, nothing is working. Players who have been given chances on the second line, like Justin Brazeau, Morgan Geekie, and Max Jones, all have yet to score a goal this season. Trent Frederic also has just one goal in seven games.

It is no secret that the Bruins are feeling the loss of Jake DeBrusk early this season. However, with none of the players working in the big role, it is apparent that it is time for the Bruins to make some changes to their roster.

Now feels like a good time to give top prospect Fabian Lysell a look on the NHL roster. He has points in back-to-back games with the Providence Bruins and could give the Bruins a bit of a boost over what they have now.

However, the Bruins also have other prospects like Georgii Merkulov, Riley Duran, and John Farinacci, who could be worth giving a chance. They also still have PTO recipient Tyler Johnson around.

At this point, the Bruins need to seriously consider trying out some other options, as their scoring in their top nine in general has been extremely underwhelming.
