The Boston Bruins defeated the Calgary Flames in overtime by a 4-3 final score on Thursday night (Nov. 7). A hungry Flames team gave the Bruins a big challenge, but in the end, the Original Six club secured the two points. A significant reason for it was the play of their top stars.
Bruins center Elias Lindholm certainly played a big role in the win, as he is the prime reason why superstar Brad Marchand had the opportunity to score the overtime winner.

Lindholm threw a hit on Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson behind Calgary's net and forced a turnover. From there, Lindholm quickly passed the puck in front to Marchand, and the captain scored.
Lindholm's forechecking ability and playmaking skills are two big reasons why the Bruins signed him to a long-term deal this offseason. He undoubtedly showed off his excellent two-way skill during the play that led to Marchand's goal.
With this clutch assist, Lindholm now has two goals and nine points in his first 15 games as a Bruin. He has also been noticeably trending in the right direction, posting four assists in his last five games.
