This was exactly the kind of game this Boston Bruins prospect needed.

Boston Bruins prospect Fabian Lysell had a tough start to the pre-season. In the Bruins' first pre-season matchup against the New York Rangers, the 2021 first-round pick did not record a shot and was not very noticeable.
This certainly changed in Lysell's second pre-season contest, as he was excellent against the Washington Capitals last night (Sept. 24).
Before the Bruins' matchup against the Capitals, head coach Jim Montgomery sent Lysell a clear message. The Bruins' bench boss said Lysell needs to do more to make the NHL roster. Lysell certainly did just that against the Capitals.

Lysell was far more noticeable against the Capitals. He created chances, was much better with the puck, and showed off his speed. However, the highlight of his night came when he scored his beautiful goal with a perfectly placed snipe.
This was precisely the kind of game Lysell needed after his shaky first pre-season contest and being called out by Montgomery. Now, he will look to build off it. If he continues to play this well, it will help his chances of making the NHL roster for the start of the season.
