Boston Bruins forward Morgan Geekie is thankfully not expected to miss any serious time.

Jake DeBrusk and Charlie Coyle were The Hockey News picks for the mid-season Selke Trophy.

During the Boston Bruins' Black and Gold Game in Providence on Saturday (Sept. 21), forward Morgan Geekie left the contest with an injury. Given the fact that Geekie is an important forward on the Bruins' roster, the idea of him missing time would naturally cause concern.

However, while speaking to reporters on Sunday (Sept. 22), Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery provided a positive update regarding Geekie. Here is what Montgomery said on the matter:

"Just a maintenance thing. He's (Geekie) gonna be fine."

It is nice to hear that Geekie's injury does not appear to be serious. The hope from here is that he will be fully healthy shortly. This is a big training camp for the 6-foot-3 forward, as he is one of the many candidates for the Bruins' second-line right wing spot.
