
Former Boston Bruins forward Shawn Thornton has landed an exciting new job.
The former Bruins tough guy has announced that he has been hired by the NBA's Atlanta Hawks as a senior vice president and chief partnership officer.
Thornton had been a part of the Florida Panthers' executive staff since 2017. His most recent position with the Panthers was chief revenue officer, which he held from 2022 until the end of the 2024-25 season.

Clearly, Thornton has built himself a nice resume since his playing days ended following the 2016-17 season. As a result, he has now landed this great opportunity with the Hawks.
In 480 games over seven games with the Bruins from 2007-08 to 2013-14, Thornton recorded 34 goals, 42 assists, 76 points, 708 hits, and 748 penalty minutes. This includes his best NHL season in 2010-11, as he set career highs with 10 goals, 10 assists, and 20 points in 79 games. He was also a part of the Bruins' 2011 Stanley Cup winning team.
