This former Bruin made his debut with the Blue Jackets.
Back in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, the Boston Bruins selected Malcolm Subban with the 24th overall pick. The Toronto native was considered the top goalie of his draft class and was expected to form a mighty tandem with Tuukka Rask.
That, of course, did not come to fruition. Subban appeared in just two regular-season games as a Bruin, where he had an 0-2-0 record, a 5.82 GAA, and a .727 SV%. His tenure with the Bruins ended in 2017 when the Vegas Golden Knights claimed him off waivers.

After a few seasons as a backup goalie with the Golden Knights and then the Chicago Blackhawks, Subban has primarily been an AHL goalie since the 2021-22 season. However, he played in his first NHL game since the 2021-22 campaign on Sunday (April 7) for the Columbus Blue Jackets against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Talk about a tough team to face, but Subban handled himself well. The 30-year-old saved 32 out of 35 shots, which equates to a .914 SV%. Even though he picked up the loss, he was not to blame, as the Blue Jackets were shut out and recorded only 23 shots on the night. Had he struggled, the Blue Jackets could have been blown out.

Nevertheless, Subban had a pretty solid debut with the Blue Jackets. Let's see if the former Bruins top prospect gets more starts with Columbus before the season is over from here.
