Right before the 2023-24 season started, the Boston Bruins lost A.J. Greer to the Calgary Flames through a waiver claim. It was disappointing news, as the hard-nosed winger became a fan favorite due to his aggressiveness and work ethic.
However, Greer is still connected to the city of Boston and is set to hit a big life milestone there shortly.
While speaking with NHL.com's Ryan Dittrick, Greer shared that he will graduate from Boston University on May 18th with a BA degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. He will also attend the event at BU, meaning the former Bruin will be right back in Boston.

Greer, 27, initially had a $250,000 scholarship with the school but left the school in his sophomore season during the 2015-16 to join the QMJHL. However, he reconnected with BU in hopes of continuing his degree, and the school immediately gave him the green light. From there, Greer shared with Dittrick that he took one class per semester and took '20-something classes' during the season and summer.
This is a great accomplishment for Greer. Balancing out a professional hockey career and obtaining a college degree takes a lot of hard work, but he is making it come to fruition. Major congrats to the former B.
