The Buffalo Sabres are back on the ice tonight (Oct. 10) to face off against the Los Angeles Kings. After losing both of their first two games in regulation, the Sabres will look to get their first win of the new season.
The Sabres will be without at least of their key forwards for the matchup, as JJ Peterka has been ruled out by head coach Lindy Ruff.
Peterka suffered a concussion in the Sabres' Saturday matchup against the New Jersey Devils. He returned to practice this week, but given this announcement by Ruff, he is still not ready for game action.

In two games this season for the Sabres, Peterka has an assist and a minus-2 rating.
Ruff also announced that fellow Sabres young forward Zach Benson will be a game-time decision. Like Peterka, Benson also returned to practice this week. However, in Benson's case, it is possible that he will return to game action tonight.

Benson had two shots and an even plus/minus rating in his lone game with the Sabres this season.
