Carolina maximized a limited draft hand by trading down, and one such player they managed to snag was Zachary Lansard, a high-energy winger whose fearless style perfectly fit the franchise's identity.

Despite entering the draft with only four picks, the Hurricanes have done their thing, trading down to compile more picks and one of the players they managed to snag due to that was 17-year-old winger Zachary Lansard.

The 68th overall pick is a 6-foot, 173lbs right winger who's regarded as a fearless competitor with high energy and some underrated skill.

The Manitoba native definitely fits the type of player Carolina likes and had a good year with the Regina Pats of the WHL, putting up 24 goals and 46 points in 68 games.

The Hockey News ranked Lansard as their 90th ranked prospect in the draft, writing, "Two-way energy guy who can score. He makes things happen whenever he's on the ice. Puts pucks on net and has a good stick. Got better as the year went on."
