Veteran journeyman Zach Sawchenko returns to Carolina on a two-way deal.

The Carolina Hurricanes have added to their goaltending depth, signing Zach Sawchenko to a one-year, two-way deal.

The 28-year-old netminder has primarily spent his professional career in the AHL, appearing in 135 games across eight seasons.

In that span, Sawchenko has a 56-57-15 record, with a 0.895 save percentage.

The journeyman goaltender has spent the past two seasons with the Cleveland Monsters and actually was a part of the Hurricanes organization in 2022-23, playing 41 games for the Chicago Wolves.

He has seven total games of NHL experience, all coming with the San Jose Sharks in the 2021-22 season.

With the team not qualifying Russian goalie Amir Miftakhov, Sawchenko looks to be the number four goalie this year behind Cayden Primeau.
