A key defenseman's absence from practice raises playoff questions. Will he be ready to face the Stars?
ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Wild (46-24-12) have spent the past six months building toward this moment. The Wild took the ice on Thursday to get ready for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Saturday.
The Wild will hop on the plane and head south to face the Dallas Stars (50-20-12), where they will play Game 1 at 4:30 Central time.
There was a reason for concern when everyone took the ice for practice on Thursday other than Quinn Hughes.
After practice, Wild head coach John Hynes said Hughes is sick and will travel with the team later to Dallas. He will be ready to play for Game 1.
