The Philadelphia Flyers will officially have the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, as revealed during the Draft Lottery on May 7.

Viewers only found out which teams would be picking at spots 1-16, as the 17-32 spots depend on how far the remaining Stanley Cup playoff teams make it in the postseason.

The Flyers were overwhelmingly favored to pick 12th overall, but had the potential to move up as high as the No. 2 spot, as well as being able to fall no further than to the No. 14 spot.

Flyers GM Danny Briere has been adamant that the organization never had any plans to "tank" in order to pick higher in the draft, nor do they have any interest in signing more experienced players to achieve short-term success. Given that this draft comes on the heels of a massive culture overhaul within the Flyers locker room—with no shortage of effort and influence from the front office—it will undoubtedly be an interesting draft for Flyers fans to follow.

There will certainly be no shortage of talent in the pool of prospects that could fall to No. 12, including names like Carter Yakemchuk (WHL; Calgary Hitmen), Berkly Catton (WHL; Spokane Chiefs), Tij Iginla (WHL; Kelowna Rockets), and even stars like Sam Dickinson (OHL; London Knights) or Cole Eiserman (USNTDP Juniors).

As the Flyers continue to build up their young core, the 2024 NHL Draft will be one fans don't want to miss—especially when it's a well-known fact that Briere always has something up his sleeve.
