The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 in Game 3 to take a 2-1 series lead.

Artūrs Šilovs was once again the hero as the Vancouver Canucks held on to defeat the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 in Game 3. Šilovs stopped 42 of the 45 shots he faced on the night while the Canucks got two goals each from Brock Boeser and Elias Lindholm. With the win, Vancouver improves to 6-1 against the Oilers this season and have gone a perfect 3-0 at Rogers Place.
The story of this game was Šilovs, who once again put on a legendary performance. He made 21 saves in the third period while stopping 16 of the 17 combined shots from Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Zach Hyman. In the end, he stole this game for the Canucks and has clearly frustrated Edmonton's top players.
Lastly, Vancouver's special teams deserve a ton of credit for how they performed in Game 3. The Canucks went 2-3 on the power play while finishing the night 2-4 on the penalty kill. While a 50% penalty kill may not stick out as a positive on most nights, the fact Vancouver was able to kill multiple Oilers' power plays should provide a massive boost for the team as they move forward in the series.
Quotes
Artūrs Šilovs on the Canucks performance in Game 3:
"I just felt confident. Guys got my back in Game 1, so I had to have them today. Everyone was resilient. Blocking shots, like really high-scoring chances they had. Our guys managed to block a lot of them. That's a big credit for them, too."
Elias Lindholm on the Canucks ability to prevent high-danger chances at even strength:
"We kept them on the outside a lot, and obviously, guys are blocking shots and doing whatever it takes. A lot of character in the room."
Brock Boeser on the performance of Artūrs Šilovs:
"Arty has been great for us this whole postseason. He's a guy that competes hard. I think you see it in each and every playoff game. He's been great, and we need to continue to support him, block shots and do anything we can to help him out."
Rick Tocchet on the performances of Nils Åman and Linus Karlsson:
"I thought they were really good. I thought Karlsson did a nice job. Good intel from the guys down in Abbotsford of where he could step in there, and I thought Åman did a hell of a job on the PK. I think he played ten or eleven minutes. I think those guys could have played a little more. They didn't seem out of place."
