Despite Edmonton walking away with the win, Vancouver won the analytics battle. At even strength, the Canucks held a 28-18 scoring chances advantage while also recording more high-danger scoring chances by a count of 11-6. Ultimately, Vancouver's downfall was their inability to hit the net, which was a common theme throughout the postseason.
As for the heatmap, the Canucks did well to keep the "guts of the ice" clean all night. Yes, the Oilers did create traffic in front of the net, but most of their shots and chances came from the faceoff dots. Overall, Vancouver played well defensively in their final game of the season but couldn't capitalize on a solid performance from Artūrs Šilovs.

In 18:07 of even-strength ice time together, the Canucks held a 6-0 high-danger scoring chances advantage and outscored Edmonton 1-0. Pettersson and Miller also combined for an xGF% of 79.70 while winning the scoring-chances battle 14-3. In the end, Vancouver's top forwards stepped up and were difference-makers in Game 7.
