The Abbotsford Canucks announced they have signed goaltender Jonathan Lemieux to a one-year extension.
Lemieux played the entire season in the ECHL with the Kalamazoo Wings. The 23-year-old posted a .911 save % and a 2.84 GAA in 39 games with the Wings.
"Jonathan had a very productive rookie season with Kalamazoo, and we are happy with the progression we have seen him achieve over the past year," Abbotsford GM Ryan Johnson said. "We are looking forward to having him continue to provide value and depth for us at the goaltending position."
With Arturs Silovs likely with the Vancouver Canucks full-time next season, Abbotsford will need Lemieux to be a solid contributor in the AHL.
Lemieux is expected to be in attendance for the Canucks development camp from July 1-4.
