Despite finishing fourth in overall 1st-place votes with 13, Pettersson received enough voting points to finish ahead of Toronto Maple Leafs Auston Matthews for second.
Pettersson finished the season with 12 PIMS. He started the season strongly but dealt with a knee injury later revealed as tendinitis.
Three other Canucks players received votes, including goaltender Thatcher Demko, who received one 5th-place vote.
Brock Boeser finished 16th in voting after receiving two 3rd-place votes and seven 4th and 5th-place votes. Ilya Mikheyev finished 30th place by receiving two 2nd-place votes, two 4th-place votes, and one 5th-place vote.
