Bob Frid-USA TODAY Sports - Former NHL Referee Believes Oilers Stars Are Injured

Former NHL referee Tim Peel believes that Edmonton Oilers stars Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman are injured.

Peel reports that he's heard it from somewhere, but there haven't been any other reports of injuries to these two players. The Vancouver Canucks have handled McDavid and Hyman well during their playoff series.

McDavid has a goal and five assists, but four of his points came in game two of the series. The Canucks have deployed J.T. Miller against McDavid, and it has fared exceptionally well.

The Canucks have kept Hyman off the scoresheet in each of the last three games. He hasn't scored a goal since the two he got in game one. Hyman scored 54 goals during the regular season and led the Stanley Cup Playoffs in goals, with seven coming into this series.

Injured or not, Peel does reference that every team deals with players who are banged up. Regardless if they are injured or not, the Canucks have shut down McDavid and Hyman to the tune of a 3-2 series lead.
