Michael Bublé has jokingly offered use of his house to Jake Guentzel if he signs with the Vancouver Canucks this offseason.
Michael Bublé is doing everything he can to help the Vancouver Canucks sign Jake Guentzel this offseason. The multi-time Grammy award winner posted on "X" that the pending unrestricted free agent could live at his house in Vancouver in exchange for a hometown discount. With Vancouver being the most expensive housing market in Canada, this would be an excellent deal for Guentzel, who is rumoured to be one of the Canucks main targets this offseason. Based on the post, it is safe to say the Burnaby-born singer is willing to do whatever it takes to bring a championship back to his hometown.
For context, Bublé was referring to a joke a fan made about a realtor showing Guentzel a property in North Vancouver. This joke is a callback to 2009 when it was reported that Marian Gaborik purchased a home in Vancouver, leading many to believe he was going to sign with the Canucks that offseason. The latest iteration of this joke has fans claiming they saw Gunetzel all over the city and experiencing everything the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley have to offer.
While the housing offer may be a joke, Bublé's fandom for Vancouver is far from that. He was one of the celebrity captains at this year's NHL All-Star Game, helping coach Team Hughes alongside Rick Tocchet. The NHL All-Star Game is also where Bublé had his famous press conference where he claimed he was under the influence of mushrooms during the Player Draft.
Bublé is not just a supporter of the Canucks, but also junior hockey in B.C. He is a part of the Vancouver Giants' ownership group and donates a suite for the entire season, which is used given to families from the B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation. During his time in the ownership group, Bublé has also done multiple videos with Giants players and has even recruited Property Brothers star Drew Scott to join the organization's ownership group.
