Newly extended Vancouver Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek finished 5th in voting for the Czech player of the year.
Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak won the award for the 7th time in his career.
Although Pastrnak has won the award seven out of the last eight years, he was challenged by Anaheim Ducks goalie Lucas Dostal and Carolina Hurricanes forward Martin Necas.
It is no secret the Canucks have an interest in acquiring Necas, but that doesn't mean anything when talking about the Czech player of the year.
Hronek finished with 304 voting points after his breakout season with 48 points (5 goals, 43 assists) and a +33 alongside Quinn Hughes. Hronek was rewarded with an eight-year contract extension.
