Week nine of the 2025-26 QMJHL season began with just one game on a Wednesday night, seeing Baie-Comeau finally pick up their first road victory of the season in a battle of the basement teams.

Sporting a 0-7-3 road record through eight weeks of the 2025-26 season, the Baie-Comeau Drakkar were desperate to find a way to win away from home.
And to kick off week nine, they headed into Victoriaville and finally pulled one out, in dramatic fashion.
The first period started off strong for the home side, with Thomas Paquet and 2026 NHL draft eligible Enzo Lottin scoring within the first 10 minutes to give the Tigres an early 2-0 lead. Overager Shawn Pearson pulled one back for the Drakkar, but they still trailed heading into the first intermission.
The second period started off in a similar way, with Lottin's second power-play goal of the night being followed by a shorthanded marker by Alexis Bourque, giving Victoriaville a 4-1 lead just under halfway through the game.
Then, the Drakkar comeback started. Alexis Mathieu got one back soon after the halfway point, and 16-year-old Liam Armit scored his first QMJHL goal to pull the score to 4-3 heading into the third. Then in the third, Miller Kay recorded his first goal in the league to tie the game and send it to overtime.
In the extra frame, the recently acquired overager Adam Cavallin scored his first with the Drakkar, putting the final touches on a true night of firsts in Baie-Comeau.
In the win, Kyle Powers had three assists, while Mathieu added an assist to his goal. Joseph Cadorin put up a pair of helpers, with Ottawa Senators prospect Lucas Beckman stopped 25 of 29 shots he faced.
For the hosts, Paquet added a pair of an assists to go alongside his goal, while Anthony Catanzariti made 36 saves on 41 shots.
