The Moose Jaw Warriors take on the London Knights in their second game at the 2024 Memorial Cup.

After an opening night loss, the Moose Jaw Warriors are back in action on Monday night as they take on the London Knights. This will not be an easy game in the slightest as London only lost twice during the postseason and shut out the Drummondville Voltigeurs a few nights ago. That being said, if Moose Jaw wants to guarantee at least a spot in the tie-breaker, they will need to find a way to beat the Knights.

Heading into Game 2, the Warriors need to find a way to limit the amount of shots London gets from the slot. Against the Saginaw Spirit, Moose Jaw allowed 37 slot shot attempts, while the Knights had 27 in their win over the Voltigeurs. While Jackson Unger has proven to be a solid goaltender this year, limiting high-danger opportunities will be a key all night.

The Warriors also need to come out strong in the first period. Moose Jaw was outshot 17-7 in the first period against Saginaw and if not for strong goaltending from Unger, could have been in a deep hole heading into the first intermission. If the Warriors can control play to start they game, not only will they be able to limit London's chances, but may be able to build an early lead through the first 20 minutes.

As mentioned a win is crucial as it guarantees Moose Jaw a spot past the round-robin. If they lose in regulation, it sets up a win or go home game tomorrow against the Voltigeurs, which is not ideal, especially when it will be a back to back situation. Fans can catch today's game on TSN with puck drop scheduled for 5:30 pm ST.
