Get To Know The 2024 Memorial Cup Opponent: London Knights

With the 2024 Memorial Cup just days away, it is time to look at the opponents the Moose Jaw Warriors will be facing. This year's group includes the Saginaw Spirit, London Knights and Drummondville Voltigeurs. Today, we take a look at the Knights who will represent the OHL at the event.

London is a juggernaut. After posting an OHL-best 50-14-1-3 record during the regular season, the Knights went 16-2 in the playoffs en route to an OHL Championship. Led by the Hunter family, London is a well-balanced team that should enter as tournament favourites.

It is hard to find flaws in this Knights roster. Up front, they are led by Denver Barkey, Easton Cowan and Kasper Halttunen, while Oliver Bonk and Sam Dickinson patrol the blue line. London also has experience in the net, as they brought in Michael Simpson, who was a star for the Peterborough Petes at the Memorial Cup last year. With 11 players recording double-digit points during their 2024 playoff run, they will be difficult to stop, regardless of who is on the ice.

As for one player to watch, that would be forward Jacob Julien. A fifth-round draft pick by the Winnipeg Jets in 2023, Julien finished the postseason with ten of his 18 points on the power play. An excellent playmaker who can dominate on special teams, he has the potential to be a star at this year's Memorial Cup.

The Warriors will face off against the Knights on May 27. Participating in their first Memorial Cup, Moose Jaw will be looking to bring the championship back to the WHL for the first time since 2014. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:30 pm ST, with all games available on TSN.
