Their opponent will be the Saginaw Spirit, who beat the Warriors 5-4 in the opening game of the tournament. With the winner advancing to the Memorial Cup Final, fans should expect an exciting game with both teams elevating their game to keep their season alive.
Heading into the semi-final, one key for Moose Jaw will be to get more shots on the net. The last time these two teams played, the Warriors were outshot 36-26, which included being outshot 17-7 in the first period. While Jackson Unger has been strong, Moose Jaw's offence needs to get going from opening puck drop to avoid being outshot yet again.
The power play will also need to come through for the Warriors if they want to advance to the Final. Moose Jaw enters the semi-final with only one goal on six opportunities, which, at 16.7%, is the worst in the tournament. If their power play can break through against a Saginaw penalty kill that is operating at 57.1%, it could be precisely what is needed to help secure the victory.
Lastly, the Warriors need to stay calm and manage their emotions throughout the game. They are going to be playing in a hostile environment and can't allow the Spirit to gain momentum through the crowd. If they play their game and get on the board early, it should help them advance to the Memorial Cup Final for the first time in franchise history.
